The international B2B matchmaking event for the metal processing, plastic, electronics, engineering and subcontracting companies was organized on 20th of May 2009 in Vilnius, Lithuania, in order to create an opportunity for the enterprises from European countries to find foreign partners as well as to expand cooperation networks.

The B2B matchmaking event attracted nearly 100 participating companies from the relevant sectors. The event was organized together with the specialized exhibition, therefore it was a perfect opportunity for SME's both to take part in the face-to-face meetings and visit international fair.

The event was very well visited and feedback from the event was excellent with many companies requesting similar events in the future. Many companies pointed out that the benefits of this type of event were that they could select and meet with up to 20 companies in a one day trip, which gave them a very cheap and effective way of building up export sales in target regions. These short meetings provided enough time to find out whether the two had anything in common or could work together in the future.

Participants came from 9 regions of Europe (Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, The Netherlands, Sweden, and UK), which gave optimal chances of finding the right distributor, partner or subcontractor for each company.

The matchmaking event was organized in the framework of the project "Lithuania - a reliable business partner", financed by the European Structural Funds.
